Questions, answered.

When can I book postpartum care?

We begin accepting bookings from 10 weeks of pregnancy.

Availability may be limited during busy birth seasons. If all spots are filled, you’re welcome to join our waiting list, and we’ll contact you if a cancellation becomes available.

How do I book postpartum care?

To get started, simply send us your estimated due date and service area by email or text.

We’ll first confirm our availability for your requested dates. To secure your booking, a 20% deposit is required. Once your service agreement has been completed, your reservation will be confirmed. The remaining 80% balance is paid directly to your postpartum care provider at the start of your service.

How many hours is a typical visit?

Our standard daytime postpartum care visit is 6 hours.Visit times can be adjusted to accommodate appointments such as hospital or pediatric visits.

During your prenatal Zoom consultation, you’ll discuss your preferred schedule with your postpartum care provider. Once you begin experiencing labor signs, please keep your care provider updated.

Your service start date and visit schedule will be coordinated based on your baby’s arrival and your hospital discharge.

When will I meet my postpartum care provider?

Our birth-month schedules are typically finalized about two months in advance.

Once your care provider has been assigned, you’ll receive an invitation for a prenatal Zoom consultation, usually 5–8 weeks before your due date.

This is an opportunity to get to know your care provider, discuss your family’s needs, and review your postpartum care plan. If you’ve requested a specific care provider, we’re happy to arrange an earlier meet-and-greet whenever possible, subject to their availability.

What happens if my baby arrives earlier or later than expected?

Since birth dates are unpredictable, we intentionally build flexibility into our scheduling whenever possible. If your baby arrives several weeks earlier or later than expected, a different care provider may be assigned if needed. Our partner team works closely together to ensure a smooth transition and consistent, high-quality care.

Can I use my extended health insurance?

Some extended health insurance plans may reimburse a portion of postpartum care services through wellness benefits or similar coverage. Coverage, eligibility, and annual reimbursement limits vary by insurance provider and individual plan.

As reimbursement cannot be guaranteed, we recommend confirming your coverage directly with your insurance provider before booking.

We provide all necessary receipts for insurance reimbursement:
20% deposit receipt issued by K-Doula
80% service receipt issued by your care provider.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel 30 days or more before your estimated due date, your 20% deposit will be fully refunded. For cancellations made within 30 days of your due date, the deposit is non-refundable due to administrative costs, advance scheduling, and lost booking opportunities.

Exceptions: The deposit will be fully refunded at any time in cases of miscarriage, stillbirth, or prolonged hospitalization of the mother or baby.

Can I request an English-speaking caregiver?

Yes. We have a carefully selected team of English-speaking postpartum care providers. Because English-speaking caregivers are often reserved well in advance, we encourage families to book early.

Is there a surcharge for twins?

Twin care is subject to a 25% surcharge due to the additional care required.
